NISA Tests

A NISA test is often a skater’s first encounter with a judge, don’t worry, they don’t bite!

Your instructor/coach will let you know when you are ready for testing.

Tests are conducted in a quiet rink environment, not open to the general public.

Videoing and taking pictures during tests is prohibited by the National Ice Skating Association.

Skaters perform their test skills for the judge, who then calculates whether the skater has achieved a high enough mark to pass.

If a skater has passed it is customary for the judge to shake their hand.

Pass or not, all skaters receive a feedback slip with comments and tips to improve performance.
