Marika to officiate at European championships

The European Figure Skating Championships are being hosted in the United Kingdom for the first time in 22 years, so how does our resident Ice Dance expert feel about officiating at this prestigious event?

Marika:

I had just turned 12 years old when I went to watch the European Championships in Birmingham and I remember vividly how the Ice Dance event captured my imagination. My favourites in the Free Dance were Usova and Zhulin skating their routine to The Planets. There has never been an ice dance team so graceful and balletic.

I am really looking forward to being on the Technical Panel for the International Skating Union. I have been in service as a Technical Official for several major championships, including other European and World Championships and the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, but a big event like this on home soil is always going to be special. I hope everyone has a great skate!

The European Championships will be televised on the BBC, so tune in for some truly great skating action. Click on this link for details
