Upholding a legacy of skating knowledge

As National Champions and Olympic competitors, Marika & Vitaliy were privileged to have been among a select few ice skaters in history to have been trained by the inimitable Betty Callaway MBE.

Betty Callaway was famed for coaching Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to their Gold medal in the Ice Dance event at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games. Betty's technical knowledge of Ice Dance will always be held in the highest esteem by judges, coaches and skaters around the world.

Adding to the legacy with honours

Marika & Vitaliy have both completed Honours degrees in Sport Sciences having graduated from Glyndwr University.

Consequently they offer skaters analysis beyond pure figure skating technique, weaving performance enhancing concepts of Physiology, Psychology and Biomechanics into the fabric of daily training for their skaters.

Continuous professional development

Recognising that the best coaches continually seek out better methods of training, Marika and Vitaliy maintain their coaching edge by observing and working alongside

World Class Master Coaches who have cultivated international medal winning ice athletes. From Vera Vandercavye and Kathy Casey in singles to Joan Slater MBE in ice dance.

Marika and Vitaliy also trained with Russian master coach Natalia Dubova.  Natalia's emphasis on precision technique and artistic flair produced numerous European, World and Olympic medals for the former Soviet Union.
